Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Mondal Public Secondary School was established on 17th July 2013 by the Mondal Samaj Kalyan Society in Madhupur, Diglipur, North & Middle Andaman. The school is dedicated to the memory of Late Madhusudhan Mondal and Late Subashini Mondal, who were known for their deep commitment to social upliftment, community service, and the betterment of society.Late Madhusudhan Mondal, a respected social reformer and visionary leader, served two consecutive terms as Pradhan of Madhupur village and was appointed as a member of the Home Advisory Committee representing the Andaman & Nicobar Islands in the Ministry of Home Affairs in 1971. His life was devoted to public service and social harmony.

On 2nd February 1992, in a moment of grave tension between two local committees, Madhusudhan Mondal intervened to prevent a possible riot in Diglipur. His selfless act of leadership and courage prevented violence but tragically cost him his life, as he suffered a massive heart attack on the same evening.

His legacy lives on through this institution, which stands as a symbol of peace, service, and secularism. The people of Diglipur and the Andaman Islands continue to honor his sacrifice, remembering him as a Symbol of Secularism — a man who gave his life for the unity and well-being of his people.
